Aoi is currently in the alpha stage (unstable, not all functions available).
Aoi is a free, open-source Japanese-English dictionary (and kanji dictionary) available for Linux and Windows *. It is based on Jim Breen's JMdict and Kanjidic2, Jim Rose's kradfile-u and the Tatoeba project. Aoi is not meant to be a study tool **, just a simple dictionary without superfluous features.
* Aoi should work under MacOS X too, but I can't check it.
** If you are looking for a study tool try Tagaini Jisho (Windows/Linux/Mac) or WaKan (Windows, works in Wine).
